Totara Syndicate Sewing Group 2010

This quilt was created by the 2010 Totara Syndicate sewing group. It was a real team effort!  
Animal designs: Susan Jull.    
Quilt design: Kathy Chandler and Susan Clark. 
Oversewer of animals: Nadine Johnson assisted by Kathy and Susan  
Teacher aide and Parent helpers: Tepora Maessen, Teuila Chitty, Sheryl Squier (& Mum!) Susan Clark and Nadine Johnson.  
The children sewed two lines of stitching around their squares, chose a kiwi, gecko, owl or butterfly then sewed buttons for eyes  and decorated their animals.  Nadine was then the principal “stitcher-on” of the animals and Susan Clark put it all together and made the cushions.  It will be sent as a gift to an orphanage in a country in Eastern Europe.
