Excitement filled the air and butterflies filled the stomachs of the eight Green Bay Kowhai Ferns and their many loud supporters.   It was the final and Green Bay Kowhai ferns were top of the table, it all came down to this final effort as a team. We were competing against Summerland Red, the whistle had gone, Green Bay intercepts, they pass down, good work in the circle—Oh it’s a GOAL!!!!!!  Green Bay scores! The heat was blinding, and rosy red cheeks and exhausted sweaty faces were the only sight that I could see.     The final hooter went - Green Bay had won not only the game but the finals!!!!!  I jumped into my Mum’s arms, I was so happy and the whole team buzzed with excitement.  Happiness filled the air and smiles filled the faces of the eight exhausted Green Bay Kowhai Ferns and their many satisfied supporters.
