Kia ora and welcome to all our new Kauri syndicate students and their whanau. My name is Whaea Jo Hadfield. I am from up north in a place called the Hokianga. My mother is from Whirinaki and my father is from Waimamaku. I have 3 daughters Aisha (10), Ange (7) and my baby Oceania (5) and 2 sons (my animals). I absolutely LOVE LOVE LOVE sports, i played ALLL the time however I have put on a little more beef lately so I have stopped playing so much hehe :). I grew up in Mangere and have recently purchased another home in Mangere so my family and I still reside there. I am absolutely stoked about the students I have this year and I hope that you will be happy with what I have to offer your child. Below you will find an outline of what we do everyday PLEASE remind your child to bring their PE gear EVERY SINGLE DAY!!

Term 2 - 6th May - 12th July

Woohoo welcome back to term 2!! Excited are you? hehe. This term we are covering alot of exciting things.

Learning Pathways "How do we keep safe" and Kauri syndicate are looking at safety in Natural Disasters and Man Made/Caused Disasters. We are also looking at safety in the wilderness because of camp in week 6 this term :).

Technology is ALLL about 'Technological Systems", things that have an input and output and blackbox (something you have no idea why it works).

Maths we are looking at Geometry and Measurement.

Writing will be all about Speeches WOOHOO!!

Reading is focussed around all the techniques we need to become awesome readers e.g. comprehension skills, inferencing skills etc.

PE Invasion games! Netball, Touch, Tag you name it we'll try it :)

I am really looking forward to this term and thank you for an absolutely AWESOME term 1!!
